Slate Studios is a recording and mixing studio owned by musician, producer, mixer, and mastering engineer, Steven Slate.  Steven Slate aka "Bang" is an internationally renowned studio engineer who has worked with some of the best new acts in the country.  He is especially known for his huge, wide, and punchy sounds that he brings to all of his mixes.

Steven's role as a producer can be heard on Torn's  latest album which sold 30,000 copies in two months, as well as the upcoming September Twilight album, (cuts of which can be heard in the HEAR MUSIC section).  He mixed 2004 Ozzfest opener Blind By Noon's latest release which has gotten rave reviews both musically and sonically.  "Hearing our music on the radio, it just sounds right... Steven knows how to mix for radio so that it'll compete with anything else on the airways," said singer Jason Marr.

It is rare for a mixing engineer to also be a mastering engineer.  However, through many years of study, Steven has attained both skills due to his dedication and passion to see his sonic vision carried out into the final medium.  An example of his mastering can be heard on the latest Fallow record.  "I love how our record sounds loud, yet still punchy and dynamic," said bassist Sean McCormick.

At the heart of Slate Studios is a Neotek Elite modified by Richard Zeir.  Noted as being one of the best sounding consoles in the industry, the Neotek Elite is big and punchy with tons of headroom.  Its musical sound enhances everything that passes through it.  Along with a large array of outboard gear, Slate Studios also has multiple Digital Audio Workstations like Pro Tools and Nuendo so that any DAW project file or OMF file can easily be imported for mixing.  Slate Studio's control room was given custom acoustic treatment designed by Steven and built and installed by master studio designer Teal Haley.  The room frequency response is amazingly flat which makes it suitable for both mixing and mastering.
